Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of managerial ownership, institutional ownership, dividend policy, profitability and company size on debt policy. The population used in this research is 137 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sample in this study was obtained using a purposive sampling method in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2015-2017 period so as to produce 120 examined data. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. Hypothesis testing results show that (1) managerial ownership does not significantly influence debt policy, (2) institutional ownership does not significantly influence debt policy, (3) dividend policy does not significantly influence debt policy (4) profitability has a significantly effect on debt policy (5) company size significantly influences debt policy. (6) managerial ownership, institutional ownership, dividend policy, profitability and company size simultaneously influence the debt policy.
